Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- related experience and/or training preferred
- ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
- ability to bend, stoop, reach up, and lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to implement proper lifting techniques
- ability to operate all linen equipment
- near-visual acuity for detecting soiled or torn linen
- color perception
- auditory acuity adequate for hearing normal voice tones and detecting noises in malfunctioning equipment
- manual dexterity, digital sensitivity, and flexibility to operate equipment and manipulate linen
- verbal and written communication skills
- basic math skills
- ability to speak, read, and write English

Job Duties
- Examine laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability
- store laundered items in the appropriate area after examining and verifying number and types of items
- count and assemble laundered items on cart or linen truck and deliver to departments
- collect, receive, count and record number of items of soiled linen for laundry and place items in containers
- weigh clean linen in and dirty linen out
- conduct inventories to identify items for replacement
- deliver linen timely, efficiently and correctly to designated areas
- respond to all linen calls
- collect empty linen trucks
- ensure extra linen is consolidated and available for distribution for the next day
- ensure all linen concerns and issues are communicated to managers to ensure they are remedied timely and efficiently
- keep linen room clean and orderly
- ensure clean and soiled linen areas are kept clean and clear of obstruction and operational
- fill and monitor scrub machine dispensers and receiver
- ensure machines are filled with clean scrubs and receivers are free of soiled scrubs
- ensure that the machines are fully operational
- understand and adhere to the WPH performance standards, policies and behaviors
- perform all other related duties as assigned
