Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Experience in marine environment, preferably on commercial vessels
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for vessel machinery
  • Ability to communicate in English over radio and telephone
  • Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
  • Knowledge of cargo information cards and material safety data sheets
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn seamanship skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Good judgment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Strong background in marine environment with commercial vessel experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude for operating vessel machinery and equipment
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English over radio and telephone
  • Valid Driver's License with safe driving record
  • Knowledge of cargo information cards and material safety data sheets
  • Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn basic seamanship skills such as splicing, rigging, and lifting
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Good judgment and effective problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptability to varying schedules including call-outs, weekends, holidays, and nights

Job Duties

  • Work according to the Companys Safety Management System
  • Report unsafe situations and improvement opportunities to the Captain
  • Assist Captain in pre-sail safety checks and routine safety equipment inspections
  • Cooperate with crew to perform jobs safely and efficiently
  • Run lines to moor or unmoor vessels manually or with line boat power
  • Deliver pallets or goods to vessels via launch service
  • Assist in cargo transfer as directed
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safe and smooth operations
  • Perform maintenance tasks and equipment checks
  • Communicate accurately with crew and vessel personnel
  • Maintain and protect company property
  • Act as lookout when required
  • Demonstrate familiarity with vessel equipment
  • Carry out vessel cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Captain
