Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • basic math skills required
  • excellent communication skills required
  • ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
  • ability to work well under pressure
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to bend, stoop, squat and reach frequently
  • ability to use kitchen tools and equipment safely
  • at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards
  • ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
  • safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
  • assist the Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs as well as purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory
  • ensure meal and rest breaks are made available to team members and accurately record meal period times
  • assist in establishing proper par levels and conduct inventories
  • properly label, date, rotate and store products to ensure proper food handling and sanitation compliance
  • ensure production and merchandising area is clean, safe, and presentable
  • effectively communicate with management and assist with and respond to guests and team members' needs and inquiries
  • utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately enter guests' information and complete sales
  • bag orders efficiently and neatly, preserving item quality and presentation
  • set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for the results
  • secure the building at closing by locking the safe, doors and setting the alarm
  • perform other job-related duties as necessary
