Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • at least 21 years of age
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • basic math skills required
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to read, write and converse in English
  • ability to manage stress and perform under high-volume conditions
  • problem-solving skills
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • ability to stand and be mobile for extended periods
  • ability to lift items up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with the established policies and procedures
  • ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
  • safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
  • ensure kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, maintained and functioning
  • assist the Chef and the Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs and purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of kitchen items
  • ensure meal and rest breaks are made available to Team Members and properly recorded
  • assist in establishing proper par levels of finished products and ingredients and conduct inventories
  • properly label, date, rotate and store all products in compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • maintain a clean, safe and presentable production and merchandising area
  • communicate effectively with management, guests and team members to address issues and problem solve
  • utilize the POS system to accurately enter guest information and process orders
  • bag orders efficiently preserving quality and presentation
  • set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift results
  • secure the building at closing including locking all doors and setting the alarm
  • perform other job-related duties as necessary
