Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • basic math skills
  • excellent communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English
  • ability to handle kitchen equipment and knives safely
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is prepared for the next shift
  • Support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
  • Safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
  • Assist the Chef and the Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of all kitchen items
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are made available to Team Members and accurately recorded
  • Assist in establishing proper par levels of finished products and conduct inventories
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store all products to ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
  • Maintain clean, safe, and presentable production and merchandising areas
  • Effectively communicate with management and assist with Guest and Team Member needs
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately enter guest information and complete sales
  • Bag orders efficiently and neatly ensuring quality and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift results
  • Secure the building at closing, including locking doors and setting alarms
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary
