Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Excellent communication skills including reading, writing and verbal English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to manage stress and perform in high-volume environments
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and drive

Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • Support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards, reporting injuries, using kitchen equipment safely and maintaining equipment cleanliness and function
  • Assist the Chef and the Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving and inventory management
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are made available to Team Members and accurately record break times
  • Assist in establishing proper par levels for finished products and ingredients and conduct inventories
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store all products for food handling, shelf life and sanitation compliance
  • Maintain production and merchandising areas clean, safe and presentable
  • Communicate effectively with management and assist with guest and team member needs and inquiries
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to enter guest information, take-out orders and complete sales
  • Bag orders efficiently and neatly preserving item integrity and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift outcomes
  • Secure the building at closing including locking the safe, doors and setting the alarm
  • Perform other related duties as necessary
