Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years of age
  • 1-2 years of experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English
  • Ability to work under time constraints and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • Support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
  • Safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
  • Assist the Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of all kitchen items
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are made available to Team Members and accurately record meal periods
  • Assist in establishing proper par levels and conduct inventories to assure proper quantities are ordered and on hand
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store all products to ensure food handling and sanitation compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of production and merchandising areas
  • Communicate effectively with management and respond to Guests' and Team Members' needs and inquiries
  • Utilize point-of-sale system to accurately take orders and complete sales
  • Bag orders efficiently and neatly preserving item quality and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for the results
  • Secure the building at closing including locking safes, doors, and setting the alarm
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary
