Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • at least 21 years of age
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • basic math skills required
  • excellent communication skills required
  • ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English required
  • ability to manage stress and perform in high-volume environment
  • ability to problem solve
  • ability to work well under time constraints and prioritize multiple work responsibilities
  • ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • ability to consistently maintain a clean and professional appearance

Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards
  • ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is ready for the next shift
  • uphold safety standards by using kitchen equipment safely and reporting injuries
  • assist Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs as well as purchasing, receiving and inventory management
  • ensure meal and rest breaks are provided and accurately recorded
  • assist in establishing par levels and conduct inventories
  • properly label, date, rotate and store products for food safety and sanitation
  • maintain clean, safe and presentable production and merchandising areas
  • communicate effectively with management, guests and team members to address and resolve issues
  • utilize POS system to enter guest information and complete sales
  • efficiently and neatly bag orders preserving item integrity and quality
  • set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift results
  • secure the building at closing including locking the safe, doors and setting the alarm
  • perform other job-related duties as necessary
