Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with the established policies and procedures
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • Support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries promptly
  • Assist the Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory management
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are made available and accurately documented for team members
  • Assist in establishing proper par levels of finished products and ingredients and conduct inventories
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store all products to ensure proper food handling and sanitation compliance
  • Maintain a clean, safe and presentable production and merchandising area
  • Effectively communicate with management, guests and team members to address needs and problem solve
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately process orders
  • Bag orders efficiently ensuring the highest quality and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift results
  • Secure the building at closing including locking doors, safe and setting the alarm
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary
