Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time

ability to train on crane operation
strong problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

Works under close supervision
receives detailed work instructions
applies basic judgement in resolving routine issues
troubleshoots basic problems
identifies deviations from accepted practices

Job Duties

Catch and throw heavy lines from ship's docking
pull mooring lines down the dock and secure to bollards
remove mooring lines from bollards
train and get approval to operate pedestal crane to move cargo and personnel to/from vessel
perform dock inspections prior to vessel arrival
perform other related duties as assigned
