Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Must possess or obtain Hazardous Materials Endorsement within 30 days of hire
- Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings including drug and background checks
- Minimum previous verifiable CDL driving experience
- Ability to operate trucks and trailers safely
- Strong understanding of federal and state transportation regulations
- Capability to perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize safety
Job Qualifications
- Class A Commercial Driver's License with a valid Medical Card
- Hazardous Materials Endorsement required to be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Previous verifiable CDL driving experience
- Strong knowledge of multi-state and multi-province regulations
- Ability to maintain accurate logs and documentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform emergency roadside repairs
- Commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations
Job Duties
- Prioritize safety by operating in full compliance with all HSE policies and procedures
- Inspect vehicles through thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects promptly
- Drive efficiently operating trucks and equipment with precision adhering to state, federal, and Carlile regulations
- Maintain accurate driver and maintenance logs electronically and manually in compliance with regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service during freight delivery and pickup
- Stay up to date on multi-state DOT regulations and multi-Canadian province regulations
- Handle trailers by spotting at the warehouse, chocking wheels, and assisting with loading/unloading
- Maintain regular contact with terminal dispatcher for instructions and safety reports
- Prepare for and perform emergency roadside repairs if required
- Secure cargo in compliance with FMCSRs and company policies
- Keep trailer, cab, windows, and mirrors clean and in top condition
- Review paperwork for discrepancies, ensure proper placarding for HAZMAT hauls, and submit reports
- Perform freight pick-up and delivery between terminals
- Set up trailers by breaking sets, hooking own sets if needed, and parking trailers in designated areas
- Conduct general vehicle maintenance as necessary
