Job Requirements
- Previous cook or prep experience preferred (Mediterranean cuisine is a plus)
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of safe food-handling
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment
- Must be available for weekends and peak hours
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a cook in food service
- Experience with Mediterranean cuisine preferred
- Strong knife skills
- Knowledge of safe food-handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook Mediterranean dishes including shawarma, kabob, falafel, rice, salads, dips, and sides
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and plating requirements to ensure consistency
- Marinate meats and prepare daily batches of garlic sauce, hummus, rice, and dressings
- Grill, saute, fry, and assemble plates according to restaurant standards
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets quality, taste, and presentation expectations
- Chop vegetables, herbs, and toppings with precision and care
- Portion ingredients for the line and maintain daily par levels
- Label, date, and store ingredients according to health and safety guidelines
- Assist with receiving and organizing stock deliveries
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety regulations (ServSafe standards)
- Support dishwashing and cleaning duties when needed
- Communicate clearly with the team to ensure smooth service
- Monitor food temperatures, equipment usage, and prep levels throughout the day
