Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location
  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • must be able to stand for several hours
  • must be able to bend stretch twist or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • must be able to lift push pull or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong teamwork and communication skills
  • ability to follow recipes and maintain quality control
  • ability to operate fryers, grills, steamers, and sauté equipment
  • flexibility to work varied schedules and shifts
  • basic math and organizational skills to assist with inventory management

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • operate the grill station cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • manage the sauté station handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • assemble and build each taco to order ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction
  • prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • maintain a clean and organized work station ensuring food safety and sanitation standards
  • collaborate with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
  • assist with stocking and organizing ingredients to support kitchen operations
  • work with efficiency and urgency during busy periods to meet guest demand while maintaining food quality and presentation
