Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for food handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant's needs
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Capable of managing multiple kitchen stations
  • Certification in food handling is preferred or must be obtained by first day

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensure all fried items are cooked to perfection
  • Operate the grill station, cook proteins and taco ingredients to correct temperature
  • Manage the sauté station, create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming
  • Assemble and build each taco to order to meet high standards
  • Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization to meet food safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitor quality and presentation of dishes to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members for efficient operation
  • Assist with inventory management by stocking and organizing ingredients
  • Operate with a sense of urgency during busy periods to meet guest demand
