Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques beneficial
  • Ability to learn and follow specific recipes and procedures
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on challenges
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness

Job Duties

  • Learn all wok recipes, cook times, and cooking techniques per Din Tai Fung's procedures
  • Check ingredient quality prior to cooking
  • Cook ingredients according to Din Tai Fung's recipes
  • Plate final products following Din Tai Fung's plating guidelines
  • Prepare and cut garnishes for wok line items
  • Label all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and company procedures
  • Attend monthly staff and wok meetings
  • Keep all kitchen areas clean and sanitized
  • Organize walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Lift and move boxes, bags, chairs, and tables up to 50 pounds
  • Assist with regular deep cleaning of the kitchen
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, including recipes and Standard Operating Procedures
