Job Requirements

  • Able to stand for the entire workday
  • Able to move about on foot to accomplish tasks
  • Bend, lift, carry, reach and extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Culinary school diploma preferred
  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail and sanitation rules
  • Availability to work in shifts during weekends and evenings

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report, and follow Kitchen Manager or BOH Supervisor instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
