Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food preparation or kitchen environment preferred
- Must be able to work early mornings, late nights and weekends
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Must adhere to safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to receive feedback and improve
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and late nights
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to accept feedback and coaching
- Passion for hospitality and customer service
Job Duties
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- Preps, stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- Prepares item for grilling, frying, sauteing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- Follow sanitation guidelines set forth by Health Department
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- Assists others in closing the kitchen
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty
