Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous restaurant experience desired
  • Successful completion of four-day training program including testing and evaluation
  • Ability to clearly communicate with service staff and managers
  • Ability to read and interpret tickets and modifications
  • Capable of standing and performing physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including peak business hours

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and food handling procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook soups, meats, seafood, sauces, vegetables, desserts and other food products according to plate specifications and recipes
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Observe and test foods for proper cooking using smelling or temperature checks
  • Portion, arrange, garnish, and serve food to servers promptly and correctly
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and fryers to maintain consistent cooking
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or specifications
  • Substitute for or assist other cooks during peak business periods
  • Stir or turn foods to ensure even cooking
  • Adhere to timing standards for product preparation and service
  • Follow daily cleaning tasks and maintain a clean, organized workspace
