Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years prior experience in similar position
  • Must obtain TABC and food handlers certification prior to beginning work
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Basic math skills to understand measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, mixers
  • Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or move goods weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to perform duties in confined spaces
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods
  • Ability to work within extreme temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of prior experience in a similar line cook position
  • Must obtain TABC and food handlers certification before starting work
  • Reliable and responsible work ethic
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate fluently in English
  • Basic math skills for measurements and portion control
  • Proficient in operating kitchen appliances
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Receive orders from restaurant servers and prepare according to Executive Chef instructions
  • Maintain adequate sanitation of the line complying with Health Department and company standards
  • Assist in buffet preparation and line operations
  • Check cooler temperatures at beginning and end of shifts
  • Handle fresh seafood with care ensuring it is properly iced
  • Keep the line clean at all times
  • Review banquet function sheets every morning
  • Set up the line for the next day
  • Monitor stock and alert Executive Chef of low or depleted items
  • Follow recipes strictly
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
