Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of related kitchen experience
  • Ability to lift food cases and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Full range of mobility and ability to stand continuously during service
  • Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate with staff
  • Capability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work in hot and cold kitchen environments
  • Periodic climbing and bending required

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of related experience in a similar kitchen role
  • Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures to perform analytical tasks
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions clearly
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Check all items against the recipe cards and verify use records
  • Monitor line setup before meal functions for efficiency
  • Enforce equipment maintenance and clean-as-you-go policies
  • Prepare food according to recipe cards and portion standards
  • Start food items to meet estimated needs without over-preparation
  • Date and rotate food containers following standard operating procedures
  • Check inventory pars and determine preparation and line setup needs
  • Note out-of-stock items or shortages
  • Assist in stocking buffet areas
  • Return unused food items properly stored with correct labeling
  • Assist in implementing plans to manage food costs and control waste
