Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of employment in a related position
- Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry food cases and equipment up to 70 lbs
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending and continuous standing
- Capability to travel 30-50 feet regularly throughout shifts
- Ability to hear timers and communicate effectively with staff
- Ability to see that products are prepared appropriately
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate clearly
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of related experience with this company or other similar organizations
- Knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices to perform non-repetitive analytical work
Job Duties
- Check all items against the recipe cards, verify use records are followed and food is presented efficiently and with quality
- Monitor line set up prior to meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during meal periods
- Monitor equipment maintenance and enforce kitchen clean as you go policy
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
- Start food items prepared ahead of time, ensuring quantity does not exceed estimated needs
- Date and rotate all food containers per SOP, maintaining proper temperatures for perishables
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
- Note out-of-stock items or possible shortages
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked
- Return unused food items to designated storage with proper covering and dating
- Assist in planning and taking actions to correct food cost problems, control waste, loss and usage per SOP
