Job Duties

  • Check all items against the recipe cards
  • verify use records are followed for all items served
  • ensure food is presented efficiently and with high quality
  • monitor line setup prior to meal functions for maximum efficiency
  • monitor equipment maintenance and enforce kitchen clean as you go policy
  • prepare food consistently following recipe cards and portion standards
  • date and rotate all food containers according to SOP
  • check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation
  • note any out-of-stock items or shortages
  • assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • return unused food items to designated storage areas properly covered and dated
  • assist in controlling food costs and minimizing food waste
