Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of related employment experience
- Knowledge of cooking and kitchen procedures
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work in a temperature-variable environment ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees
- Ability to hear timers and communicate effectively
- Understanding and following verbal and written instructions
Job Qualifications

- One to two years of related employment experience in culinary or similar kitchen positions
- Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
- Ability to perform non-repetitive analytical tasks related to food preparation
- Strong communication skills for verbal and written instructions
- Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Job Duties
- Check all items against the recipe cards
- Verify that use records are followed for all items served
- Ensure food is presented in an efficient and quality manner
- Monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions
- Oversee equipment maintenance and enforce kitchen clean as you go policy
- Prepare food following recipe cards and production standards
- Start food items prepared ahead of time ensuring quantities meet estimated needs
- Date and rotate all food containers per standard operating procedures
- Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation
- Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked
- Return unused food items to designated storage areas
- Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost issues
- Control food waste, loss, and usage according to SOP
