Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some kitchen line or prep experience desired
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as squatting, reaching, and bending
  • Weekend availability is a must
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some kitchen line or prep experience desired
  • Preferred post high school degree
  • Minimum two years full-time experience in a related hospitality setting or equivalent education and work experience
  • Knowledge of safe food storage and handling techniques
  • Ability to follow instructions including menus and recipes
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for 5-6 hours and perform bending, reaching, squatting regularly
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support an inclusive environment

Job Duties

  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices
  • Substitute for, assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables in preparation for use
  • Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foodstuffs for consumption
  • Identify, list and explain ingredients in response to dietary inquiries
  • Prepare and serve family meals for hotel employees
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned
