Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • One or more years of experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred
  • One or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without extended sitting
  • Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary arts education or apprenticeship preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred
  • Knowledge of scratch cooking techniques preferred
  • Experience with sauté and/or broiler cooking preferred
  • Ability to read and understand English for effective communication
  • Manual dexterity for handling kitchen equipment
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Control portion sizes and maintain food inventory
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the kitchen workspace
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to fulfill orders efficiently
  • Greet and interact with residents and guests in a friendly manner
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Assist in training new culinary staff
