Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- ability to stand walk climb stairs crouch bend stoop reach grasp push pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time
- ability to lift or carry push or pull up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges
- sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms to use all kitchen equipment and utensils
- ability to read write and understand the English language to direct manage hire and train kitchen staff complete requisitions read recipes and communicate with employees residents and guests
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
- one or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced cook to order kitchen preferred
- one or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
- sauté and or broiler experience preferred
- ability to read write and understand English
- sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- strong communication skills
Job Duties
- prepare various food items including meats vegetables potatoes bread products and desserts
- maintain high standards of food quality and consistency
- follow recipes and community procedures accurately
- ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station
- collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and communicate with residents and guests
- adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines
- model professionalism and courtesy at all times
