Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • One year training in food service
  • Combination of work experience and training may be used to fill this requirement
  • Current Davis County food handlers permit
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to organize and follow through
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must have the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Current Davis County food handlers permit
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to organize and follow through

  • Preferred current ServSafe certification

Job Duties

  • Works cooperatively with the cafe manager to ensure a quality food service program
  • Exemplifies and provides professional customer service in all aspects of food service
  • Assists in preparation and cooking of designated menus
  • Works independently to operate a short-order line during breakfast and lunch hours
  • Preparing, cooking, and serving food to customers
  • Maintains serving areas in clean and well-stocked manner
  • Monitors condition of equipment, cleanliness and order of storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and other equipment
  • Maintains kitchen and seating area in clean, sanitary, and orderly condition
  • Works with student dishwashers to ensure consistent quality clean-up of kitchen
  • Works with students to ensure food quality and service standards are met
  • May assist with cashier responsibilities as needed
  • Works cooperatively within the college community
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
