Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within required timeline
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects at various heights
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Food Handler's certification or ability to obtain it as required by state and local regulations

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • Manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring high standards and guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and cook ingredients on multiple stations following Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station, ensuring food safety and sanitation
