Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within required timeline
  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various heights
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler's certification or ability to obtain by first day
  • Previous experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work varied shifts and flexible hours
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • Manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create dishes that are flavorful and perfectly cooked
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring each one meets high standards and guests' expectations
  • Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients on the grill, fryer, sauté, and steam stations according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Monitor the quality and presentation of each dish, maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation
  • Collaborate with BOH team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients to set up for success
  • Operate with urgency during busy periods while ensuring food quality and presentation
