Job Requirements

  • Meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Obtain certification by first day or within timeline required by location
  • Ability to stand for several hours
  • Ability to bend stretch twist or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • Ability to lift push pull or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Ability to serve guests needs with high sense of urgency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience is an advantage but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
  • Food Handler's certification as required by state and local regulations

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • Manage the sauté station handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order ensuring each one meets high standards and guests expectations
  • Prepare and cook ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work station ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
