Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • certification must be obtained by the first day or within the required timeline
  • able to stand for several hours
  • able to bend, stretch, twist, and reach for objects at various heights
  • able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds
  • open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred but not required
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • ability to follow standardized recipes and cooking procedures
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled perfectly
  • manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring high standards and guest satisfaction
  • prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • monitor quality and presentation of each dish to ensure it meets company standards before serving
  • maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • collaborate closely with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • assist with ingredient stocking and inventory management to keep the kitchen well-prepared
  • operate with urgency during busy periods while maintaining food quality and presentation
