Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for food handler’s certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within required local timeline
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Ability to stand for several hours
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various heights
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and restaurant standards
  • Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain it as required by state and local regulations

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station and cook all fried items to perfection
  • Operate the grill station and cook proteins to correct temperatures
  • Manage the sauté station to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Use steam equipment to prepare dishes with proper texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build tacos to order, maintaining high quality
  • Prepare and cook ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at workstations to ensure food safety
  • Collaborate with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
  • Assist with inventory management by stocking and organizing ingredients
  • Operate efficiently during busy periods while maintaining food quality and presentation
