Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within required timeline
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred
  • Food Handler's certification as required by state and local regulations
  • Ability to work varied schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Capability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects at various shelve heights
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer service orientation
  • Positive attitude with ability to have fun in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station to ensure perfect crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station to cook proteins and taco ingredients to the correct temperature
  • Manage the sauté station to prepare flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Utilize steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming with correct texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order meeting high standards and guest expectations
  • Prepare and cook ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain clean and organized work stations adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate closely with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
  • Assist with inventory stocking and organization to support kitchen operations
  • Operate efficiently with urgency during busy periods while maintaining food quality and presentation
