Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within location timeline
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various heights
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked perfectly with correct crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station, cooking proteins to precise temperatures and grilling taco ingredients to perfection
  • Manage the sauté station, handling ingredients to create flavorful, well-cooked dishes
  • Use steam equipment to prepare steamed dishes maintaining proper texture and flavor
  • Assemble tacos to order, ensuring each meets high standards and guest expectations
  • Prepare and cook ingredients per Torchy's recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to meet food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Collaborate with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
  • Assist with stocking and organizing kitchen inventory before and during service
  • Operate with urgency during busy periods while maintaining food quality and presentation
