Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for food handler's certification
  • certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location
  • previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred
  • open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • must be able to stand for several hours
  • must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
  • food handler certification as required by state and local regulations
  • ability to work well within a team setting
  • strong attention to detail and quality control
  • ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
  • good communication and collaboration skills
  • willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • basic understanding of food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled perfectly
  • manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create flavorful, perfectly cooked dishes
  • operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming while maintaining texture and flavor
  • assemble and build each taco to order meeting high standards and guest expectations
  • prepare and cook ingredients on grill, fryer, sauté, and steam stations according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • monitor quality and presentation of each dish, ensuring every taco meets company standards before serving
  • maintain a clean and organized work station ensuring food safety and sanitation
  • collaborate closely with back of house team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • assist with stocking and organizing ingredients to set up kitchen for success
  • operate with urgency during busy periods while maintaining food quality and presentation
