Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for food handler’s certification
  • Certification must be obtained by first day or within timeline required
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend stretch twist or reach for objects on shelves at various heights
  • Must be able to lift push pull or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in fast-paced, high-volume restaurant kitchens preferred
  • Ability to work in various cooking stations including fry, grill, sauté, steam, and taco assembly
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team environments
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station cooking proteins and taco ingredients to the correct temperature and perfection
  • Manage the sauté station handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming maintaining proper texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order ensuring high standards and guest expectations
  • Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients across stations according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Monitor the quality and presentation of each dish ensuring every taco meets the company standards
  • Maintain clean and organized work stations meeting food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate closely with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients for kitchen readiness
  • Operate efficiently with urgency during busy periods to maintain quality and guest satisfaction
