Job Requirements

  • must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • certification(s) obtained by first day or as required
  • open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • ability to stand for several hours
  • able to bend, stretch, twist or reach for objects at various shelf heights
  • capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • ability to serve guest needs with a high sense of urgency
  • ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • certification(s) for food handling obtained by start date or as required by location
  • ability to operate multiple cooking stations including fry, grill, sauté, steam, and assembly
  • strong team collaboration skills
  • attention to detail in food quality and presentation
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment

Job Duties

  • master the fry station, ensuring fried items are cooked with perfect crispiness and flavor
  • operate the grill station, cooking proteins and taco ingredients to correct temperatures
  • manage the sauté station, preparing flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • operate steam equipment to prepare steaming-required dishes with correct texture and flavor
  • assemble and build tacos to meet high standards and guest expectations
  • prepare and cook ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations meeting food safety standards
