Job Requirements

  • Meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • obtain certification by first day or within required timeline
  • able to stand for several hours
  • able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
  • ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • ability to operate fry, grill, sauté, steam stations
  • familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong attention to detail and quality control
  • ability to collaborate effectively with a kitchen team
  • capability to handle high-volume, fast-paced work environment
  • basic certification or willingness to obtain Food Handler's certification

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create dishes that are flavorful and perfectly cooked
  • operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring each one meets high standards and guests' expectations
  • prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • monitor quality and presentation of each dish to ensure standards are met before reaching guests
  • maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards
  • collaborate with BOH team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation
  • assist with stocking and organizing ingredients to prepare the kitchen for service
  • operate efficiently during busy periods to meet guest demand while maintaining quality and presentation
