Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within required timeline
  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects at various heights
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Food Handler's certification required within timeline set by location
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety protocols
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical kitchen tasks

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station ensuring fried items are cooked perfectly with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station cooking proteins and taco ingredients to correct temperatures
  • Manage the sauté station handling ingredients to create flavorful, perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming maintaining texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build tacos to order ensuring high standards and guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and cook ingredients following Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations ensuring food safety and sanitation standards
