Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant's needs
  • Must be able to stand for several hours
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to serve guests' needs with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to have fun

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
  • Certification(s) in food handling or willingness to obtain by first day
  • Flexible to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • Manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create dishes that are flavorful and perfectly cooked
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes that require steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring each one meets high standards and guests' expectations
  • Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients on the grill, fryer, sauté, and steam stations according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Monitor the quality and presentation of each dish, ensuring every taco meets standards before it reaches the guest
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
  • Work closely with other BOH Team Members to ensure all food is prepared timely and correctly, contributing to a smooth kitchen operation
  • Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients, ensuring the kitchen is set up for success before and during service
  • Operate with a sense of urgency during busy periods to keep up with guest demand, while maintaining the quality and presentation of the food
