Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
  • Must have experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including knives, slicer, salamander, stove, oven, mixer, fryer, woks
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 10 hours)

Job Duties

  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard sizes and recipe specifications
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation including equipment and floors
  • Sets up, maintains, restocks, cleans and organizes work area
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
  • Closes the kitchen properly following the closing checklist
  • Executes every dish and recipe to highest standards with strict recipe adherence
  • Practices proper and safe food handling, storage, receiving and rotating stock
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Restaurant Manager
