Job Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years old
- Proven cooking experience
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods and ingredients
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Food handler's card may be required
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and late nights
- Background check clearance
Job Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to work accurately and quickly
- Minimum of 1 year of food preparation experience
- Graduate of a culinary institute or formal on-the-job training preferred
- Familiarity with industry best practices
- Food handler's card may be required according to local and or state regulations
Job Duties
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
