Lookout Tavern is a vibrant and modern social tavern located in North Phoenix, Arizona. Known for its expansive food menu and impressive beverage selections, including over 16 beers on tap and a wide array of cocktails, this establishment offers guests a unique inside-outside experience thanks to its two patios and roll-up garage doors. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Proven cooking experience
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods and ingredients
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Food handler's card may be required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and late nights
  • Background check clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to work accurately and quickly
  • Minimum of 1 year of food preparation experience
  • Graduate of a culinary institute or formal on-the-job training preferred
  • Familiarity with industry best practices
  • Food handler's card may be required according to local and or state regulations

Job Duties

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
