Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to follow directions carefully and work independently
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and food storage procedures

- Effective communication skills verbally and non-verbally with kitchen, front-end staff and management
- Ability to understand instructions and company memorandums with minimal direction

- Problem-solving skills to recognize and maintain quality control and service standards
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment

- Flexibility to work overtime and assist others when needed
Job Duties
- Inspect all kitchen surfaces to ensure that all areas are safe and sanitary in accordance with food handling procedures
- Prepare food as directed
- Season and cook food according to recipes using personal judgment and experience
- Ensure appropriate presentation and quality of dishes
- Estimate expected food consumption based on previous trends and developments
- Inventory, place orders and properly store, date and rotate food items
- Organize food storage and kitchen equipment
- Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs
- Supervise work of kitchen staff as directed by management
