Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 4 years of related experience and/or training in high volume kitchen preparation and cooking
  • Must have a current San Diego County Food Handlers card, issued by the County of San Diego
  • Reliable transportation is necessary

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Execute and adhere to all recipe and kitchen specifications and standards for each menu item, practice, and procedure
  • Check line and line cooks prep, temperature of coolers, and food before and during shifts
  • Delegate, lead, uphold core values, coach kitchen staff, and monitor breaks and hours as needed during each shift
  • Communicate effectively to lead the kitchen line by composing and expediting food orders to ensure quality delivery
  • Maintain sufficient food pars, inventory, and station specific products while appropriately rotating products
  • Lead and perform opening and closing duties and execute projects or assignments
  • Collaborate with kitchen, event crew, and front of house members to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Support event chef and crew in event menu specifications and execution
  • Train and demonstrate skills related to one or more kitchen stations to meet service needs
  • Understand and comply with health, sanitation, and safety regulations
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstations including all kitchen equipment
  • Attend scheduled meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement
