Job Requirements
- Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card upon hire
- Previous experience in restaurant line, prep or sous roles
- Ability to follow recipe cards and portion standards
- Capable of operating various kitchen equipment
- Ability to work under fast-paced conditions
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy items
- Availability to comply with attendance rules

- Previous restaurant line, prep or sous experience
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Effective communication skills with guests and team members
- Team player with willingness to assist coworkers
- Self-starting with even disposition
- Dexterity to operate food machinery
- Physical ability to lift or carry up to 100 lbs on a continuous schedule
- Open to training for kitchen advancement
Job Duties
- Maximize potential dining room and room service revenue through quality, uniformity, portion size and presentation of food products
- Prepare food consistent with recipe cards and production and portion standards per server check
- Start food items prepared ahead of time without over-preparing estimated needs
- Date all food containers and rotate as per Sheraton standards ensuring proper temperature for perishables
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set-up
- Note out-of-stock items or possible shortages
- Assist in buffet stocking if applicable
- Return unused food items to designated storage, cover and date perishables
- Assist in correcting food cost issues and controlling waste, loss and usage
- Support kitchen, banquet, and room service staff
- Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
- Comply with attendance rules and be regularly available
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
