Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • minimum six months experience as a prep or line cook in a full service restaurant or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • knowledge of cooking techniques utilized in the position
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • good judgment and decision making
  • ability to work well with limited supervision and collaboratively with a team
  • physical ability to stand walk reach push pull lift and carry loads over 50 pounds
  • ability to maintain balance on slippery or uneven surfaces
  • ability to climb stairs ladders and ramps
  • ability to communicate clearly in the primary language of the restaurant
  • normal hearing and specific vision abilities including close distance color peripheral depth perception and focus adjustment

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • culinary degree or equivalent preferred
  • six months to one year experience as a prep or line cook in a full service restaurant preferred
  • knowledge of cooking techniques relevant to the position
  • good reading writing mathematical and communication skills
  • ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment
  • good judgment and decision making abilities
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members

Job Duties

  • Prepare cook and present seafood according to company standards
  • maintain a safe clean and sanitary work area
  • comply with all company policies procedures and operating standards
  • comply with all federal state and local laws and ordinances
  • clean and sanitize workstation before during and after shifts
  • use kitchen equipment utensils and tools safely and correctly
  • complete assigned prep work sidework and station setup
  • prepare and portion food according to established recipes and specifications
  • monitor ticket times and kitchen flow to ensure quality service
  • maintain food knowledge and allergen information
  • adhere to food safety handling procedures including proper hand washing and temperature control
  • assist with receiving rotating labeling and storing products
  • prevent cross-contamination
  • use knives scales and colored cutting boards appropriately
  • calibrate and use thermometers
  • record waste accurately
  • provide excellent customer hospitality
  • support teamwork by assisting other line cooks
  • maintain clean organized storage areas
  • complete opening ongoing and closing sidework
  • notify manager of customer complaints
  • remain calm and perform other assigned duties
