Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a cook in a high volume restaurant
- Able to speak and read English
- Able to work weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a cook in a high volume restaurant
- Ability to speak and read English
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques such as saute, braise, poach, grill, fry, and steam
- Experience in using kitchen tools including knives, pots, pans, ovens, grills, and steamers
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and multitask in a fast-paced setting
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food with attention to cleanliness and sanitation
- Responsible for full set up and preparation of hot food items for outlets
- Assist Restaurant Chef with kitchen organization and sanitation
- Control quality and consistency of all food served
- Ensure that station or prep list is set in timely manner
- Demonstrate knowledge of all food items produced by assigned station
- Handle and store food properly and safely
- Produce orders consistently and quickly according to quality standards
- Use kitchen tools safely and competently
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Assist with delegation of work
- Dress in full uniform appropriately
- Respect and adhere to scheduled hours of work
- Demonstrate respect for associates, equipment, and customers
- Communicate with supervisor after shifts regarding work tasks
- Assist in other kitchen areas when not busy
- Communicate needs to supervisor
- Take responsibility in supervisor's absence
