Job Requirements

  • valid state food handler's license
  • able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • able to effectively present information
  • strong knife skills
  • ability to manage time and work in a fast-paced environment
  • flexibility to work various shifts including opening and closing
  • ability to stand for long periods during shifts

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years industry experience
  • ability to cook proteins to pre-determined temperatures
  • ability to cook and direct a banquet up to 100 with a small team
  • working knowledge of mother and minor sauces
  • working knowledge of proper butchering techniques
  • knowledge of specialized equipment including slicer, Robo-coup, Hobart, convection ovens
  • knife skills
  • ability to adjust preparations for flavor and accommodate customer needs
  • effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group situations

Job Duties

  • prepare new menu items and daily preparation requirements
  • provide guidance to line cooks
  • conduct inventories
  • ensure sanitary and well-maintained food preparation areas
  • maintain safe food handling practices
  • manage opening and closing kitchen procedures
  • accommodate customer needs in a timely manner
