Job Requirements
- open availability to work morning and evening shifts including weekdays, weekends and holidays
- minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- compliance with health and safety standards
- willingness to work in a unionized environment
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional line cook experience
- knowledge of food safety and cooking temperatures
- strong knife skills
- ability to work in high-volume operations
- effective communication skills
- ability to follow recipes precisely
- teamwork and reliability
- current ServSafe certification preferred
- prior hotel culinary experience a plus
Job Duties
- Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest
- visually inspects, selects and uses only food items ideal for cooking, in preparation of all menu items
- checks and controls the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality
- keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with health department regulations
- prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production
- reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
