Job Requirements

  • open availability to work morning and evening shifts including weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • compliance with health and safety standards
  • willingness to work in a unionized environment

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional line cook experience
  • knowledge of food safety and cooking temperatures
  • strong knife skills
  • ability to work in high-volume operations
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to follow recipes precisely
  • teamwork and reliability
  • current ServSafe certification preferred
  • prior hotel culinary experience a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest
  • visually inspects, selects and uses only food items ideal for cooking, in preparation of all menu items
  • checks and controls the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality
  • keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with health department regulations
  • prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
