Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current Food Handler Card
  • minimum three years relevant cooking experience
  • ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment effectively
  • capacity to work in extreme temperature ranges and confined spaces
  • availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to follow safety and security protocols
  • clean and professional appearance in accordance with company standards
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • three years cooking experience preferred
  • broiler cooking experience preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • good working knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • basic math skills for recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portion sizes
  • basic English language skills to understand inquiries and communicate instructions
  • ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure consistency
  • visually inspects and selects only the highest standard food items for menu preparation
  • checks and controls proper storage and portion control of products
  • maintains cleanliness and working condition of refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas in compliance with health regulations
  • maintains all logs including cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to company policies, safety and security procedures
  • utilizes protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions to management
  • reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, or property damage
  • maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • assists other kitchen personnel as needed
  • performs any related duties as requested by management
